In case you love nature and wonderful landscapes, discover true magic of the Lake Skadar – National Park in Montenegro, which history, tradition and legends will captivate you. The Lake Skadar is situated on the territory of two countries, Montenegro and Albania, and it spreads over the surface of 400 km2.

The lake has many isles and peninsulas, on which there are many traces of history and rich cultural heritage: Žabljak (15th century) – The Old Capital of medieval province Zeta, Lesendro – the fortress built on the rock in the middle of the lake, the fortress Gmožur. Clear water and preserved environment ensured the development of exceptionally wealthy eco-system. This is the only habitat of the pelican in the southern Europe.

Since 1983, the lake is a National Park, and in 1995. the lake was included into the World List of Swamplands of international significance.
